Introduction:
I am David Vaughan, a children’s entertainer with the stage name of Conk the Clown. I have been clowning
for over 30 years, and turned Professional in 1999.
I was inspired to become a clown due to my uncle as he was a family comedian with a great sense of humour.
He used to make us all laugh, and that, combined with watching old black & white Comedy films, made me
want to spread cheer and laughter to an often under-represented section of society, children.
It is such a fulfilling feeling to know in the short time I am with the children and their families, that I have been
able to put smiles on their faces, and help take people out of their normal lives for a moment; transforming
them into another, happy world.
Places I have been:
I am fortunate enough to be able to travel all round the world, on multiple continents, working in such
wonderful places. I have been to the Caribbean (French West Indie) Sri Lanka Greenland, Kolkata (India)
Kenya, as well as numerous European countries including Monte Carlo , Holland, Denmark, Portugal,
Romania, Poland, Kosovo, Sweden, Greece and the Azores, in addition to all around the United Kingdom.
In December 2010 I achieved one of my biggest ambitions to perform in a Circus ring, along with my clown
partner Clown Bluey. But this was not just any circus ring, but one of the most prestigious circus rings in the
world, in Monte Carlo.
Celebrities I have worked with:
I have been able to meet and work with numerous celebrities including Sir Norman Wisdom, Jimmy Cricket,
Keith Chegwin and Norman Barrett MBE.
