Blanco the clown from the UK and Clown Masjolie from the Netherland along with her husband Ben started World Wide Smiles; I joined them the following year on the first trip to Romania. Blanco left and in 2004 we were joined by Clown Bluey .We are still putting smiles on children faces.
I have lots of memories, but the one that stands out is when we were in Romania in 2003. We did a show in an old church I think it was Roman Catholic it was a long side an orphanage. Well we set up the stage and then went off into the vestry to change, after changing we sat and waited for the children to come, we waited and waited but we still couldn’t hear any signs of the children, so we sent our helper to find out where the children were, He came running back saying they’ve been sitting in the Church all this time waiting for us in silence because they were told in a church you must not make a sound and be quiet as a sign of respect. But as soon as we started the show we lifted the roof with sound and laughter and all the children including the priest joined in, it was brilliant.
That’s why I love this job so much; I don’t earn any money when I’m doing my Charity Work Our soul aim is to put Smiles and to bring laughter to all kinds of Children all around the world.
